ISSUE: You continue to get the message “Unable to connect to QuickBooks. Please ensure that QuickBooks is opened and a company has been selected – then try again” even after your sure QB is open.
CAUSE: This is caused by not giving permission to the Adkad software to access your QuickBooks data when the popup to do so was initially presented by QB.
SOLUTION: To reset QB to ask again so you may grant access, simply open QuickBooks and select EDIT | PREFERENCES and choose INTEGRATED APPLICATIONS. Click on the COMPANY PREFERENCES tab and REMOVE Adkad Technologies. Close both applications and try again.
Afterwards, when you try to use the Adkad software to Import your QB customers, and the ‘grant access’ popup is displayed by QB, you can select “YES” to give it permission.
